About Niveshak
Niveshak, the Finance and Investment club of IIM Shillong, strives to be the harbinger of the financial world for the institute’s students. Through its activities, the club provides students with unique exposure, helping them channel and build their financial skills. It provides a robust platform for building a sustained and mutually beneficial relationship between the corporates and the students at the institute.

About the Club
Team Niveshak is responsible for:
- Managing Niveshak Investment Fund (NIF), the apotheosis of Niveshak, is a diversified equity portfolio that aims for growth through a focused and optimally diversified portfolio strategy. The fund seeks to optimize the risk-adjusted return by building a portfolio across sectors, selected as per in-house research methodology and serves as a significant learning curve for the club members and the student community of IIM Shillong.
- Publishing a monthly magazine, “Niveshak”, covering events that have created a spark in the financial markets and highlighting key events from the world of finance.
- Publishing FinView, which includes interviews with investment bankers, economists, stock analysts, and other industry stalwarts from leading enterprises.
- Organising flagship events such as ‘Union Budget Panel Discussion’ featuring leading economists and industry stalwarts, overseeing inter-collegiate competition called ‘FinWeekend’, contributing to the ‘Business Leadership Summit (BLS)’, and managing the annual management fest ‘Khlurthma’.
- Partnering with various online training academies to encourage students to groom their finance knowledge by enrolling in specialized finance certification courses.
Niveshak actively organises knowledge-sharing sessions, where burning issues in the financial realm are discussed to keep students abreast of current affairs. A major highlight is the budget discussion session, which encourages and fosters active participation from the student community.
